Born in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1951, Neil Driver studied Commerce at Otago University graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1973. Not wishing to follow a career in business he began painting, concentrating on landscape, still life and domestic interiors. Over the next ten years he exhibited regularly in New Zealand and travelled overseas studying paintings in the galleries of Europe, New York and Canada. He now lives and works in Clyde located midway between Dunedin and Queenstown in the South Island.
