A member of the Aranda tribe, Australian Aboriginal artist Wenten Rubuntja was born c 1923. Best known as a watercolourist and stained glass designer, he later also painted in the dot style of the western desert movement. He exhibited his work in Melbourne and Adelaide from 1987. Also known as elder of the Arrernte tribe and a member of the Central Land Council and chairman of the Sacred Sites Authority.
