Born in 1898 in Bega NSW, Eric Scott studied in Sydney and at the Academie Julien in Paris in the 1920s and earned a precarious living there as an etcher and sketcher until he established a reputation in the USA as a result of an exhibition organised by an American women’s club in Paris.
