About Alan McCulloch
Born in Victoria in 1907, Alan McCulloch studied in Melbourne and on travel studies to the USA, Europe and the UK. A cartoonist, painter, writer, gallery director and critic, he began compiling the 'Encyclopedia of Australian Art' from 1944. Alan McCulloch died in 1992.
