Born in New Zealand in 1957, Alison Clouston studied at the Ilam School of Fine Arts, University of Canterbury before arriving in Australia in 1981. Working mainly in sculpture and installation, and also performance, drawing and new media, she held her first solo show in Australia in 1982 in Sydney and exhibited in the First and Second Australian Sculpture Triennials in Melbourne, and in the Mildura Sculpture Triennial. In 2004 she completed a Masters Degree at the University of new South Wales.
