Born in Western Australia in 1948, Benjamin Joel studied in Perth. A watercolour painter, he has taught art and architecture at tertiary level in Perth and in the United States of America. Joel has held solo exhibitions since 1971 and has won several awards. His work is represented in the Victorian state gallery and in tertiary institutions in Western Australia.
