Born in Terang in country Victoria in 1955, David Wadelton graduated from art school at the Phillip Institute, Melbourne in 1982. A surrealist painter, photographer, writer and illustrator, is known for depicting the changing suburban interiors and streetscapes of Melbourne, where he lives. He has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra since 1982, and has written and illustrated several books. His Milk Bars of Melbourne series of 63 photographs, was shown in the Melbourne Now exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in 2013.
