Born in Sydney in 1888, Moore qualified in architecture in 1908, working in America in architectural design until 1915, when he enlisted in the Royal Engineers. At the end of World War I he returned to Australia where he practised architecture and painted. He lectured at Sydney University for fifteen years from 1920, and was a member of the Society of Artists. His works are represented in most state and provincial collections and in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
