Born in Western Australia in 1952, Nigel Hewitt is a painter, teacher and portraitist. He studied at the Claremont School of Art in Western Australia in 1977 and has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows around Western Australia and nationally since 1978. He has won a number of awards and in 2015 he won The Glover Prize, the country’s richest landscape art award, and in 2016 was granted a Creative Development Fellowship from the Department of Culture and the Arts.
We have records of art auction sales by Nigel Hewitt from 1992 and in total 90 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 62 (69%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $23,000 for Drying Sheds II sold by GFL Fine Art in May 2022. This year one work has been offered for sale.
