Born in Singleton, New South Wales in 1959, Dale Frank is a modern painter in acrylic and pastel and and a performance artist. He was awarded the Red Cross Art Prize, judged by John Olsen, when he was aged 16. His work was included in the Wynne exhibition in 1975, and had several other exhibitions before leaving Australia for Europe in 1979, having never completed any formal art training. Dale Frank began to make a name for himself as a performance artist with solo exhibitions in Europe in 1980 and 1981. He was included in the 4th Sydney Biennale in 1982. He exhibits regularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland.

The total number of works by Dale Frank offered for sale by auction since 1983 is 242, of which 152 (63%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $106,855 for Craven A sold by Art+Object in August 2022. This year 4 works have been offered for sale.
