Born in Brighton, England in 1939 Brian Blanchflower studied at Brighton and Croyden Colleges of Art prior to his arrival in Australia in 1972, settling in Perth, Western Australia. His first exhibition was in the mid-1970s and since then has held numerous solo exhibitions in Perth and Sydney. From 1972 to 1984 Brian Blanchflower was a lecturer in fine art at the Western Australian Institute of Technology. He has achieved recognition as a leading abstract painter and teacher.
