Born in Western Australia in 1901, Beatrice Darbyshire studied in Perth with Henri van Raalte and later in London. An etcher of landscapes, figures and portraits, she exhibited in Perth from 1921 until 1940 when she gave up etching and became a teacher with the League of Health. Her work has been exhibited in all Australian states since 1979.
