About Raymond Harris Ching
Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1939, Raymond Ching began work in a Wellington advertising agency, but became known internationally as a painter of birds. Ray Ching began exhibiting his bird paintings in the 1960s and was contracted by the 'Readers Digest' to illustrate its 'Book of British Birds' which required 230 full-colour illustrations. He has produced a series of eleven books documenting his paintings. He now lives in Wiltshire, UK and continues to paint birds, and exhibits regularly in New Zealand.
