Born in Latvia in 1927, Viktor Mednis studied at the Melbourne Gallery Art School before working as an industrial designer and glass engraver in Adelaide. He established a studio and gallery in the Adelaide Hills in 1971 and has produced murals for city buildings. Mednis is a member of the Contemporary Art Society and has exhibited his work since 1966.
