Born in Austria in 1943, Werner Filipich arrived in Australia in 1950. He completed a course with the Julian Ashton Art School and attended the Royal Art Society sketch club but is mostly a self taught artist. He is an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society. He paints traditional scenes around Sydney Harbour and the Australian countryside as well as figurative paintings depicting people at play around the beaches and countryside.
