Harry Emmett was born in Hanley ,Staffordshire UK on 10 April 1900 and trained under English artist Percy Bradshaw while in UK. He moved to Sydney in July 1948 to take up a position with Australian Abrasives Pty. Ltd. in Auburn NSW and took up professional oil painting in his spare time, selling his work in Sydney and Parramatta. He retired from his job in 1964 and moved to Katoomba NSW to take up painting full time. Emmett's works are mainly of Blue Mountains scenery, but he is also well known for Australian scenes of gum trees and water scenes.

We have records of art auction sales by Harry Emmett from 1989 and in total 13 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 8 (62%) were sold. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2018.
