About Benjamin James Lane
Benjamin Lane was born at Great Yarmouth, England in 1846. In 1865 he emigrated to new Zealand and worked as a journalist. In 1890 he moved to sydney where he was employed as an artist with the Illustrated Sydney News and then a few years later moved to Hobart to work on the The MercuryIn his spare time he was an artist, working with watercolour and pen.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2017.
