Born in Melbourne in 1931, Ken Unsworth studied art at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne Teachers College and the National Arts School Sydney. A painter, sculptor, draughtsman and teacher, he first exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Art in 1975. He has since exhibited widely in Australia and overseas. Unsworth teaches at tertiary level.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $15,250 for Free Fall Series II – Stone Cube sold by Deutscher and Hackett in August 2019.
