Born about 1925, England Bangala is an Aboriginal bark painter, lithographer and printmaker from Central Arnhem Land. He has exhibited in Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide.
The total number of works by England Bangala offered for sale by auction since 1990 is 70, of which 46 (66%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $7,800 for Modj (Rainbow Serpent or Ancestral Creator) sold by Sotheby's in September 2002. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by England Bangala are held by the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria and a further three major public national galleries (see list below).
