Born in Melbourne in 1908, Anne Montgomery studied at the National Gallery School in Melbourne from 1927 to 1932 and the George Bell School in 1938/39. A painter, teacher and etcher, was a member of The Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors and exhibited widely in Melbourne in the late 1940s and 1950s. She was a lecturer at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology from 1937 to 1973.
