Born in Redcliffs, Victoria in 1922, Jim Crofts attended some Council of adult Education classes in art, but is a mainly self-taught landscape artist in oil and watercolour working full time as as an artist from 1972. For many years he operated a studio and gallery in Canterbury, Victoria. He has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
