Fredrick D'Arcy was a sketcher, surveyor and amateur sketcher and watercolourist in New South Wales in the 1830s. A sketch by him is held by the Mitchell Library. He moved to Melbourne about 1835, to Launceston in 1838 and then back to Sydney in about 1840. His work Mounted Policemen was exhibited at the Society for the Promotion of the Fine Arts in Australia held at Sydney in 1847 and Emu Hunt was exhibited with the Society in 1851.

Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2004.
