About Liza Merkalova
Liza Merkalova (official name Rina Daye) was born in Minsk, Belarus in 1964, but is now Adelaide based. She studied at the Minsk Art School and the Polygraph Institute, Moscow where she obtained a degree in Visual Arts, majoring in oil painting. Between 1993 and 2008 she worked as a graphic artist for several animation studios in Australia and abroad. In 2000 she joined the Royal South Australian Society of Arts, participated in numerous group exhibitions, and became a Fellow Member in 2003. Liza Merkalova has exhibited in Minsk, Tel-Aviv and Adelaide.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2006.
