About Marie Jonsson-Harrison
Born in Sweden in 1958, Marie Jonsson-Harrison comes from a circus family and her father Ted Jonsson was sculptor, Marie migrated to Australia with her family in 1972, and worked as an international model. She won 'Australian Model of the Year' before starting painting in 1987, is self taught. Her first solo show was in 1990 and since then she has exhibited throughout the world, including Japan, USA & Europe and has several large public sculptures in South Australia. The Queen of Denmark was presented with her first limited edition chocolate tin produced for Danish chocolatier SV Michelsen. Her paintings have been reproduced on quilts and pillows in New York & Israel & various other items in Australia. Marie has also illustrated 2 children's books 'Winston Knows' and 'Meltdown Moments' and is currently working on her 3rd, 'The Last Woof' with another South Australian author. Her inspiration for painting comes from her colourful life & travel.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2022.
