Born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1920, Alan Ingham studied sculpture in Christchurch, Sydney and London where he worked as assistant to Henry Moore. He returned to New Zealand in 1954 and built a small bronze foundry before moving to Sydney where he set up a studio and received several commissions from government authorities and institutions. Iingham taught part time at art colleges in Sydney and exhibited widely.
