Born in 1905 in Melbourne, Guelda Pyke studied at the National Gallery of Victoria School in 1957, at RMIT and at the George Bell School in Melbourne between 1946 and 1951. She held her first solo exhibition in Melbourne in 1963 and exhibited until the 1980s. She lived and worked in Bali In the 1960s and then travelled extensively, including in Greece, Iran and Pakistan, eventually settling in Templestowe in Melbourne.

We have records of art auction sales by Guelda Pyke from 1981 and in total 118 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 71 (60%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $4,230 for Woman by a Table with Flowers sold by Deutscher~Menzies in November 2000. This year one work has been offered for sale.
