Born in Brisbane in 1966 Jane Burton is best known as a photographic artist. In 1991, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Photography) from the Tasmanian School of Art, Hobart, and in 1993, was awarded an Honorary Research Associate, Tasmanian School of Art, Hobart. The winner of the Lloyd Rees travelling scholarship in 1993 she took a four-month residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. She has exhibited widely in both solo and group shows. Jane Burton now lives and works in Melbourne.
