About Arthur Wakefield Bassett
Born in 1869, Arthur Bassett trained at the National Gallery of Victoria School in Melbourne and was involved in artists’ camps at Charterisville. Working in watercolour and oil, he exhibited in 1893 at the Victorian Artists’ Society exhibition. He moved to Western Australia in 1893. In 1930 he was awarded the Perth Centenary Prize.
