Laurence (aka Lawrence) Bush Tayler was born in London on 22 April 1882. He arrived in Australia with his parents and brother (Ernest E.) in January 1884 aboard the Garonne. He was only 1 year old which is why it is commonly thought that he was born in Australia. He returned to London in 1913 and married Grace Marjorie Hawke (1894-1979) in 1928
