Born in Austria in 1941, Alfred Engel arrived in Adelaide in 1973. Largely a self-taught painter, he did travel to New York to study at the “Art Students League“. He works in oil, egg tempera and watercolor and is a fellow and tutor of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts, and has exhibited in Adelaide, Melbourne and Darwin.
