Graham Snowden completed a Diploma of Fine Arts at Ilam School of Fine Arts, University of Cantebury, Christchurch in 1978, receiving honors in sculpture. He worked at the McDougall Public Art Gallery in Christchurch until 1981 and then at the Auckland City Art Gallery until 1988. He then spent two years tin South Korea, and returned to Nelson where he practices as a full time sculptor.
