About Augustus Prinsep
A colonial landscape artist Augustus Prinsep travelled around Tasmania with his wife, fellow artist Elizabeth during the 1830's. Many of their sketches were made into lithographs and published as Journal of a Voyage from Calcutta to Van Diemens's Land.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1993.
