Australian Aboriginal artist Henoch Raberaba was born in 1914 and belongs to the same tribal group as Albert Namatjira, Edwin, Otto and Reuben Pareroultja. He too, belonged to the Hermannsburg Mission and developed a keen interest in watercolours, initially producing work similar to Albert and Edwin Pareroultja. The colours and drawings are strong and his watercolour skills highly developed.Since he sold his first paintings to members of the film crew who were shooting the documentary Namatjira the Painter he has consistently produced high quality, sought-after work. Following the death of Henoch’s friend Albert Namatjira in August 1959, Henoch continued painting and he inspired numerous tribal relatives to start painting seriously in the following years .
