Tom Baddiley was born in 1921 at Toowong, Queensland. He enlisted in the Australian Army during World War II and later became a teacher at Brighton Grammar School, Melbourne and was head of the Junior school from 1970 - 1987. He became well known for his floral still life and landscape paintings and was a highly regarded philanthropist who supported orphans in Bangladesh. He died in 2017 in Brisbane.
