Born in Sydney in 1923 Ronald Lambert studied at the national Art School in Sydney, where he was awarded a Painting Diploma; the National Art School in Sydney from 1954 to 1957, and in Salzburg, Austria at the Oskar Kokoscha School form 1960 to 1961. He taught part time in Sydney and Wollongong from 1972 to 1989. An abstract expressionist painter he firstly exhibited in Sydney in 1963 and in following years regularly exhibited in Sydney and Melbourne. A retrospective of his works, Explorations in Paint - A Survey, Ron Lambert 1954-1992 was held at the Wollongong City Art Gallery in 1992
