Born in Sparta, Greece in 1959, Leon Roubous arrived in Melbourne in 1976(?) and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1982. He also studied and worked in Europe. Known for his finely detailed minute figures set in a sparse background, he held 8 solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide between 1995 and 1998 as well as participating in a number of group exhibitions.
