Born in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia in 1945, Desmond Brennan was apprenticed to a commercial artist. After serving in the Vietnam War 1966-68, he studied at the Perth School of Art for three years and then took an apprenticeship in commercial art for 5 years. A watercolourist, he paints landscapes and streetscapes. He held his first solo exhibition in Perth in 1971 and since then has exhibited in Western Australia. He lives in Bow Bridge in the south of Western Australia.

We have records of art auction sales by Desmond Brennan from 1994 and in total 78 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 49 (63%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $3,450 for Green Island, Rottnest sold by McKenzies Auctioneers in May 2005. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
