Little is known of this artist who was painting landscapes in oils in Victoria, New South Wales and New Zealand. Most of his works are both signed and dated, bearing dates between 1898 and 1918. He is not to be confused with the photographer named John Norton who had studios in Geelong and Melbourne between 1858 and 1882.
