Born in 1954 on Thursday Island in far North Queensland, Diana Crooke is the daughter of artist, Ray Crooke. She was raised in Yorkey's Knob north of Cairns, and then in Sydney. Diana Crooke is mainly a self-taught artist, and her works show the influence of both Ray Crooke and Heinz Steinman who she worked with her on the Cape York Peninsula. She has exhibited widely throughout Queensland and in Sydney.
