Andrew Coates was born in Mitcham, Surrey in 1955 and grew up in Canterbury, New Zealand. He is now based in Beer, Devon, and has established a reputation as a meticulous painter of natural landscapes. Andrew has exhibited at the Royal Academy and he won the Goldline Award for landscape painting at the Mall Galleries. He became a celebrity in his teens and his works continue to be shown at the National Gallery in Wellington. He holds solo shows every 18 months at Marine House, Beer.
