A French topographical draughtsman, Alphonse Pellion accompanied Freycinet on his voyage to Australia from 1817 to 1820. He visited Sydney in 1819 and made many drawings of the area. Some were later lithographed for de Freycinet’s Atlas Historique. Others, including a view of Port Jackson, were reproduced in Rose de Freycinet’s published Journal , ''.
