Born in Adelaide in 1923, Robert Parr trained as an engineer and studied drawing in Melbourne, and in Wollongong, New South Wales. He has taught at secondary level, at the National Art School in Sydney the Art School Canberra. As a sculptor, Parr held his first solo show in Sydney in 1964 and has participated in many shows since 1965. He has won several awards and his work is represented in the Australian National Gallery and several state galleries.
