Born in Sydney in 1946, Paul Selwood studied sculpture at the National Art School in Sydney, graduating in 1965. In 1966 he travelled to Europe and then to London where he worked as a technical assistant at the Sculpture School of the Royal College of Art. He returned to Sydney in 197. A sculptor and teacher he has lectured at art colleges in London, New South Wales and Queensland. Selwood exhibited his sculptures in London from 1967, and in major cities in eastern Australia from 1972. He was the winner of Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2011 and awarded with the Balnaves Foundation Sculpture Prize. In 2013 he wond the Helen Lempriere Scholarship for a senior sculptor.
