Born in Hamilton, New Zealand in 1962, Patrick Pound studied Art History at the University of Auckland Elam School of Art, graduating in 1987. As well as being an artist working in oil, acrylic, collage and wax, he is also a writer, and is known for his films and installations. Since 1989 he has lived in Australia, and from 1991 he has held over 60 solo exhibitions, mainly in Sydney and particpated in over 45 group exhibitions, in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. He received Australia Council grants in 1992, 1995, 1998 and 2001.
