Born in England in 1855, Allen Hutchinson travelled to New Zealand in the late 1860's and arrived in Sydney in 1896. Best known as a sculptor working in bronze and plaster, he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1893 and with the Society of Artists in Sydney.
