Born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1947, Llew Summers is well known as a traditional sculptor, mainly working in bronze, and a silversmith. In 1971 he held his first exhibition of 27 works, with about 50 solo shiows and many mixed shows in the following years. In a career over almost 50 years, it is estimated he produced 900 works in a wide variety of media, including wood, bronze, concrete, marble, cast glass and terracotta. His sculptures are to be seen in several gardens and public spaces.
