Samantha Everton was born in Whyalla, South Australia in 1971. After working as a cadet photo-journalist she furthered her studies and was awarded a Diploma of Applied Photography from RMIT TAFE in 2001 and a Bachelor of Arts (Photography) With Distinction from RMIT in 2002. She held her first solo exhibition in Warnambool two years later, and since then to 2020 she has had 23 solo exhibitions and participated in 24 group shows in the eastern state capital cities and regional centres, and overseas in New York, and The Netherlands. She has been the winner of numerous awards and grants including prizes and Honourable Mentions in the Px3 Paris International Photography Awards, Portraiture in four editions, and Australian Leica Documentary Photographer of the Year Award Winner in 2005. Samantha Everton lives and works in Melbourne.
