Born in Hamilton, New Zealand in 1952, Marianne Muggeridge studied at Elam School of Fine Art where she gained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1973. Known as painter and printmaker, she has been a full time artist since then. In 2000 Muggeridge won the New Zealand Portrait Gallery’s inaugural National Portrait Competition and in 2002 won the Adam/NZ Portrait Competition.
