Born in Lithuania in 1928, Eva Kubbos had studied in Berlin and arrived in Australia in 1952 where she undertook further studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She is known for her expressionist oil and watercolour paintings and also for her graphic art and has won several major art prizes.

The earliest auction listing we have for Eva Kubbos is in 1975 and in total 168 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 119 (71%) were sold.
