Born in Queensland in 1899, Florence Broadhurst was one of Australia's most eminent wallpaper designers. Sydney based, her designs, together with her flamboyant marketing skills, procured many overseas and prominent Australian commissions. She worked into her 79th year when she was brutally murdered in her studio in 1977.

The earliest auction listing we have for Florence Broadhurst is in 1975 and in total 53 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 34 (64%) were sold.
